Build A Niche Store Update - Earnings Report
Posted by admin
Yes, it’s been a very long time since my last post. I’ve been really, really busy working on several projects. Some BANS, some not.
As far as the non-BANS, I’ve been working on several sites including one for Rodrigo “Minotauro” Nogueira, he’s the UFC Heavyweight Champ! He’s opened a new gym here in Dallas called Octagon MMA., you can see it at http://www.OctagonMMA.com. That was a huge, yet fun project.
As far as BANS goes, I’ve really scaled down my sites and focus over the last 3 months. When I bought Build A Niche Store back in May, I immediately put up about 8 stores. That was a mistake, never do that.
Since then, I’ve scaled back to active participation in 3 stores. Two are fully developed with full content and making around $150 per month on average. The third is just ramping up so I have not promoted it yet.
EARNINGS REPORT
October - $429
September- $385
Keep in mind that the bulk of this income is coming from 2 sites. All of the income reported is from EPN, no other affiliate programs.
On an interesting note, I spent ZERO time on BANS in October and it was my biggest month YTD. I spent around 10 hours in September. Just been busy on other projects.
So, making money with Build A Niche Store can an IS being done. It’s all based on setting up your store correctly and then let eBay do the rest. I spent no time on these sites over the last month ands a half and they still make me enough money to pay my truck note!
If you have not started with BANS, you need to. It can really change your financial position for the better.
Fun Games To Play While You are In The Google Sandbox

OK, as many of you know, I got a Google timeout and it earned me time in the Google Sandbox. How long who knows. So if you are reading this, chances are you are in the same boat. You can either play along and dig yourself out of the box or toss in the towel. The point is you have to decide and that decision will require action.
The easiest choice is to toss in the towel and start fresh with a new domain and do things right. Cutt your losses and move on.
The other route is to rebuild and salvage the domain. If this is the route you decide to go, be prepared to make a ton of effort.
The first thing you will need to do is get Google’s trust back. The only way you can do this is by creating a site that people will actually get something out of. Meaning heavy on content, low on ads & revenue. Personally, I’m not putting any ads on my sites that I am rebuilding.
The best way to reclaim your site is to first move your BANS store into a subdirectory called store.
Then, install Wordpress in the root of your site. Then, create a post right after you install it. Make sure the post is keyword optimized and not spammy.
From there, your whole life is about content. Every single day you will need to create a new piece of content.
And that is game number 1 that you can play while in the Google Sandbox. It’s called the content game.
I personally use http://developers.evrsoft.com/seotool/ to help me with my content writing. It’s an SEO tool that help you get your keyword density right. Last tip, your blog posts will need to be 300-450 words long.
Told you this was going to be an investment of time & effort. Good Luck!
Twenty Tips To Keep Your BANS Store Out Of The Google Sandbox
Posted by admin
BANS sites require traffic to function properly and produce an income. One of the most sustaining sources of traffic is search engine traffic. Without constant traffic from the search engines, your BANS site will likely fail. The biggest source of search engine traffic is obviously Google. A few years back, Google came up with an algorithm that essentially quarantined a Web site. Meaning separated it from the rest of the sites in a search result. This became known as the Google Sandbox.
What exactly is the Google Sandbox? The Google sandbox is where sites go for a period of time because Google doesn’t trust them yet. Google wants to make sure these sites are not spam, so they throw it in an area of their search engine that doesn’t respond to search queries. You are in the index, but your site is hidden from the search results so it looks like you are not there.
To see if you are in the sandbox try this in a Google search: site:yourdomainname.com.
If nothing shows up and you were in the index before, congrats you have now been dumped in the sandbox! If this applies to you, check back soon. I’m writing an article on what games to play while you are in the Google Sandbox. It’s going to be funny, but productive. However this article is tips to help stay out of the sandbox.
Here’s the tips.
- Start out with a blog. Install Wordpress in the root of your site.
- Create blog entries for one month. One article per day. No reference to BANS.
- On day 30, create your BANS store on a subdirectory on your site.
- DeBANSify your site. Remove all reference to BANS and eBay other than the links to the auctions.
- First thing, post a privacy policy.
- Carry your wordpress template through to your BANS site.
- Write 400+ words of unique content on your BANS store homepage.
- Keep the number of auctions you display to a minimum, no more than 12.
- Each store/content page needs to have at least 400 words of unique content.
- Do not activate a store page unless it has at least 400 words of unique content.
- Keep store pages deactivated until you can add content to them.
- Change “Time Left” to “Sale Ends In”.
- Change “Site Navigation” to “Learn More About XYZ Instert Your Topic”.
- Change “Store Navigation” to “XYZ Store”.
- Change “Sponsored Links” to “XYZ Links”.
- DO NOT PUT ADSENSE ON YOUR SITE, ANYPLACE. PERIOD.
- Do not use Google Analytics.
- Do not submit your site to every directory and social platform in the same day. Space it out over time.
- Add a valid robots.txt file.
- Change your sitemap priorities. Search the BANS forum for the code and copy & past to your site. It’s a 30 second fix.
And there you go. Twenty steps to follow to stay out of the Google Sandbox. Also, these concepts can be applied to those sites that are in the sandbox in an effort to dig your way out.
The Build A Niche Store Cookie Unraveled
Posted by admin
There seems to be a ton of questions on the boards about cookies for some reason.
Here it is.
There are two cookies when it comes to BANS sites. One you don’t need to care about so much, one you do.
The first cookie is YOUR cookie. When a visitor hits YOUR site, BANS sets a PHP session cookie. If you run google analytics, you will see those show up as well.
The only reason most people care about this cookie is that it requires them to have a privacy policy according to the eBay TOS.
The second cookie is the most important cookie and it is the cookie that eBay sets. When someone clicks on an auction link from your site there is a huge url. In that url is your campaign id. EBay reads that campaign id and sets a cookie on the visitors machine. This cookie associates your campaign with that visitor. Again, YOU did not set this cookie. When someone clicks the link and is sent to eBay, eBay sets the cookie on their site populating it with your encrypted campaign id.
So to recap.
You set one cookie, mainly for PHP session info.
Visitor clicks a auction link. eBay sets their own eBay cookie that associates your campaign id with that visitor.
That visitor buys something within 7 days, eBay knows the lead came from your campaign and gives you credit.
If you run firefox and clear all your cookies you can see all this take place. simply visit your site and view the cookie, then click on an auction and view your cookies. You should have 3 trees. One is your site, one is main.ebayrtm.com and the other is ebayrtm.com. I’m pretty sure it’s the ebayrtm.com that contains the info need to attach the visitor to your campaign.
Hope that helps.
YOU Should Not Buy Build A Niche Store If…
Posted by admin
I love Build A Niche Store. Why? Because I like eBay, I like creating content, I like promoting things I like, I like the Web and I love to make money on the Web.
But, the thing is, I also love the work. I like getting in there and researching a niche. Testing a niche out, creating content for that niche. I am 100% sold out, in the game when it comes to building wealth through the sites I create using Build A Niche Store.
That being said, BANS is not for everyone. YOU should not buy Build A Niche Store if…
- YOU Are a QUITTER. Quitters never succeed because they are afraid to really start. They never finish and never are going to succeed because they don’t give themselves a chance to succeed.
- YOU Are looking for a handout or a quick buck. BANS takes time, effort and energy. You are not going to pay off your mortgage overnight with BANS. But you can over time.
- YOU Are not creative. BANS requires out of the box thinking. You have to think about a niche, choose a niche, develop that niche and market to those seeking that niche. You don’t need to innovate anything, the software is already developed. You just need to be creative in how you use it. If you are not creative, do not buy the software.
- YOU don’t take risks. Spending $97 on BANS is a risk. Purchasing $7.50 hosting is a risk. Purchasing a $7.95 domain is a risk. Yes, BANS requires the purchase of these three things. Question…Do you go to work someplace full-time? How do you get there? You probably bought a car to get there. Why? So you can make money. It’s the same thing. To make real money on the Internet, you have to buy a vehicle to get you there. BANS could be your vehicle.
- YOU are lazy. BANS is not for the lazy. You’ll need to create content, research and build your network of sites. It takes effort. Not a ton of effort. Not 24×7 effort. But, it requires about an hour a day to see some return. Put 2 hours in, see more return. Put 3 hours a day in and you will see a significant return. Do it full-time, you make serious coin. But you have to do the work. Once you get going, you can slack off, but in the beginning you should expect to make a good effort.
So, if you are a quitter (you probably stopped reading by now anyway), looking to get rich quick, and going to freak out because you invested $97 in yourself, please don’t buy Build A Niche Store.
However, if you want to succeed, you want to work at something, build something, have a creative mind and want to EARN a living on the Web, go ahead and buy Build A Niche Store.
Build A Niche Store Expectations
Posted by admin
I was just surfing the Build A Niche Store forum, specifically the critique my site area. One thing that I noticed over and over was the lack of content and over doing of ads.
Don’t expect anything out of your BANS site if you don’t put in time developing content. Content is king. Content will provide you with a far better return on your time than plugging in ad after ad.
When someone comes to your BANS site, the first thing they should notice are the auctions you are promoting. Then they should notice your content. Then, after they view the auctions and content do they pick up on your ads. You ads should be the third thing in rank of importance and dominance.
Lastly, I saw a post that someone was complaining that they did not get any commissions off of 500 impressions and 14 clicks, for the month. WOW, reality check needed on aisle 1. It takes countless impressions and atleast 100 clicks on average to make a sale. That’s just my rule of thumb.
So, if you get 200 clicks, you can pretty much count on 2 sales. Again, that’s just based on my sites and results I’ve seen. But zero sales off 14 clicks should be expected.
Build A Niche Store Case Study - Day 1 Niche Selection
Posted by admin
OK, I have been getting tons of questions about Build A Niche Store. The main question everyone is wanting to know relates to BANS performance. Does it really work? How long does it take? Is it right for me?
So, to answer all of those questions I am going to do a 3, maybe 4 week case study on Build A Niche Store.
The following is a breakdown of how I will approach the case study and building out my BANS site.
Week 1 - Choose niche, build site and do rapid testing.
Week 2- Determine profitability and decide to move forward or choose another niche.
Week 3- Hopefully full tilt push with increasing profits every day.
So, let’s get started!
I need to choose a niche. Hmm, you guessed it. Let’s start with something golf related. Now normally, I go through a 2-3 hour selection process. I’ve outlined that in a previous post.
For the purpose of this case study, I’ll just select a category at random. I want to prove to you that any niche can be profitable using BANS. The only catch is that I have to know a little about the subject.
And that niche is Used Titleist Pro V1 golf balls. I love Pro V1’s, and they are my ball of choice.
Now, I did some checking and normally this niche would be a little risky because it is low traffic according to Keywordtracker. However, using GTrends I see there are only +/-4,000 competing pages. That’s good. Not only that, but the average sale is around $150. Also, very good. So, I hit 2 out of 3 requirements. Good enough for this case study. If you have no idea what I’m talking about, check out How to find a good niche for your Build A Niche Store?.
Honestly, I have not done any competitive research for this niche. All I know is that I use Titleist Pro V1 and I buy used Titleist Pro V1 on eBay. I’m no different than most, so I’m sure other are buying it as well.
That being said, it’s now time to build out our site and get our hands dirty!
